History

David Thompson, MD, began building Health Navigator’s program architecture in 2004 for the Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Clinical Documentation Support (CDS) Engines. After nearly 10 years of research and database construction, Dr. Thompson launched Health Navigator in 2013 based on his desire to develop an integrated clinical vocabulary and database architecture that can support a better telehealth health experience.

The Health Navigator platform has evolved over the years and currently contains more than 450 coded chief complaints and more than 2,700 clinical concepts, making Health Navigator the most robust and efficient digital diagnosis system available. Health Navigator is privately owned and based in La Grange, Ill. Executive leadership includes Dr. David Thompson, Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz and Patricia Maynard.
